Our Project: Where Music Meets Solidarity

The Origins of the Project
The Spicy Zoumis project officially came to life in January 2025 — though the idea had been simmering in our minds for more than a year.
It all began within La Band’à Joe, the marching band of CentraleSupélec, where the idea emerged to create an adventure that would combine music and solidarity during our gap year.
Our project unfolds in two main stages: a year of preparation, followed by the 6-month long journey itself.
Preparation phase
Over the course of a year, our goal is to build our own brass band with an original repertoire and a distinctive identity..
This is also a time for mobilization: we are working to raise the funds needed to make our journey possible, through performances, concerts, grants, and donation campaigns — all while continuing our studies and internships.
The Journey
For six months, we will work with NGOs abroad as part of internships approved by our school.
This journey is an opportunity for human encounters, intercultural exchange, and musical sharing.
Our guiding words: Discover, Exchange, Share.
Our ambition: to create connections through music and to learn from the cultural richness of the communities we meet.
We take time to meet our partners and carefully select NGOs whose values align with ours. Our goal is to give true meaning to our commitment — ensuring our project becomes a genuine driver of connection, exchange, and social impact.
FSF : Our Parent Organization
The Spicy Zoumis project is not a standalone initiative — we are part of the Fanfare Sans Frontières network, founded in 2010, which has already supported more than 30 groups of solidarity-minded musicians.
They have been guiding us since day one, sharing their 15 years of experience and their network of NGO partners worldwide. Their support helps foster collaboration among students, coordinate actions, and ensure the continuity of each project.
Being part of the FSF network means combining the energy of a unique project with the strength of a collective!
